Okay, I must admit I was not a big Iron Man fan (I dabbled in other comics but I was pretty much a DC guy - Batman/Superman/Flash), but I have to say this is one of the most intriqueing live-action ideas in quite a long time. Iron Man is pretty much made for movie magic...you've got some definite dramatic potential there, not to mention tons of metaphor for the artsy-fartsy inclinations Hollywood types would like to PRETEND they espouse. And God, what a costume! This guy out-Vadered Darth before anyone even thought up Star Wars!
It could suck a big one. It could be cool shit.
Gotta check it out!

Dude, Jon Favreau is directing, which scares me a little bit. I'm hoping that he's going to be the Bryan Singer-type who does the personal story well rather than the Michael Bay slam-bang-only school.
What's completely BRILLIANT is the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as an eccentric genius with womanizing, addiction, and obsession problems. Downey is Tony Stark.

I watched Zathura, also directed by Favreau, this afternoon.
Iron Man officially looks promising.
