For the record, my pick is Colts 31, Bears 17.
By the way, how the hell does Michael %$ing Irvin (750 catches, 11,904 yards, 65 touchdowns) get into the hall of fame before Art Monk (940 catches, 12,721 yards, 68 touchdowns)?!! And don't even get me started on Russ Grimm...

Wow, you should see the spread here at Casa Creasy! Snackies galore, a so-called "big-ass sandwich," and pigs-in-a-blanket are apparently in the offing. Frank and I are sharing a big bottle of Legend ESB and waiting for the tiny crowd to arrive.

Wow, this pregame thing with the marching band members dressed like football players is incredibly stupid. With the "Elements of Life" band and the gigantic inflatable gators, Karen says it's "like being on drugs."

Perhaps my favorite thing about this Super Bowl©® is the fact that both of these teams wear such old-school uniforms. Freeze-frame any moment of this game and it could be happening in the 1960s.
At 2/04/2007 6:13 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
IT'S RAINING! This is officially the first Super Bowl©® ever played in inclement weather!
At 2/04/2007 6:19 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Billy: Two words, buddy. WARM UP.
Wow, look at all the rain on that piano keyboard!
Marlee Matlin rules, by the way.

I'm feeling quita alone here. Is anybody playing?
At 2/04/2007 6:24 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Whoa, this audience is totally pro-Bears...

WOW, LOOK AT DEVIN HESTER GO! Holy smokes!
At 2/04/2007 6:35 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Frank says, "Manning didn't even see the safety." Peyton just looks uncomfortable. The whole Colts offense looks like Division I-AA here.
At 2/04/2007 6:41 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Well i'm here.
Go Colts!
At 2/04/2007 6:47 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Touchdownnnn
At 2/04/2007 6:48 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Touchdown Colts.
I was yelling "NO NO NO" while that ball was in the air, sure it was going to come down in the hands of a Bears defender.
Shoot! Too bad about that fumbled snap. Are we seeing the effects of the weather?
At 2/04/2007 6:48 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Hey! Joey's here!
At 2/04/2007 6:49 PM , Joey Fanelli said...

Whoa, slippery ball, slippery ball! What a pickup by Hagler.
At 2/04/2007 6:52 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Do you got any money riding on this game, Hamm?
At 2/04/2007 6:52 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Man, the Bears are on fire.
At 2/04/2007 6:53 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
I don't ever bet for religious reasons. No joke.
This game is getting swiftly ridiculous.
At 2/04/2007 6:54 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
I'm not sure the Bears are on fire so much as the Colts are just in a state of chaos.
Touchdown, Mu. Dang, this is crazy!
At 2/04/2007 6:54 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
>_< Touchdown.
Colts need to step up the D.
At 2/04/2007 6:57 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
They need to step up the not-playing-like-morons.

At 2/04/2007 7:05 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
What is that, four turnovers in the first quarter?
At 2/04/2007 7:06 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Some years these Super Bowls©® are so dull, you know? Nothing like a slippery ball and offensive incompetence to make a game interesting.
At 2/04/2007 7:07 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Are they playing football or making pastries out there?
At 2/04/2007 7:08 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
I wish John Madden was comentating for this game.
"If if if if theres a a flag on the play and uh the refaree didnt make a mistaike uh then theres theres probably gonna be gonna be a penalty."

That would be "Frank."
At 2/04/2007 7:11 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
I hope Benson's okay. I hate seeing a guy get hurt, especially in the Super Bowl©®. It sure looks like concussion territory.
At 2/04/2007 7:13 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Still, it's not too bad having Thomas Jones available to take the load.
Should be good field position for the Colts.
At 2/04/2007 7:17 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Frank says: "First quarter: four turnovers, three big plays, too much rain and adrenaline."
At 2/04/2007 7:19 PM , Joey Fanelli said...

At 2/04/2007 7:26 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
There we go, that's tackling. Frank: "They stayed in their lanes that time." Frank used to play football. He was a guard.
At 2/04/2007 7:27 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Dude, make your during the game. You don't want to miss the commercials, and they'll replay the big plays.

At 2/04/2007 7:35 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Touchdown Dominic Rhodes! Frank called it! This game is going to be all about the running backs.
At 2/04/2007 7:38 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Why show that heart health commercial when half of the audience has an entire sausage half-eaten in their mouth right now?
At 2/04/2007 7:38 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Gah, the power went out in my room and i missed that

What are these "napkins" you speak of?
At 2/04/2007 7:51 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Aaaand another Colts fumble. And another Bears fumble. That's six turnovers, five of them fumbles.
At 2/04/2007 7:53 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
I never envisioned Peyton Manning as an option quarterback.
At 2/04/2007 7:56 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Nice strategy, Bears: Ice Adam frickin Vinatieri with a timeout.
At 2/04/2007 7:56 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! No WAY Vinatieri misses! It must have been an optical illusion!
At 2/04/2007 7:58 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Wow, that may have been the most insane half of Super Bowl©® football ever. Six turnovers, rain, a Vinatieri miss...
Frank: "There's no need to watch Prince; they already went crazy!"
At 2/04/2007 7:58 PM , Joey Fanelli said...

At 2/04/2007 8:32 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Dude, I just found out that my dad has his ears pierced.
And its been like that for a wile too.
Nothing like seeing your 54 year old dad with two silver balls in his left ear.
At 2/04/2007 8:33 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Manning's going to throw a big one soon.
At 2/04/2007 8:34 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
What's wrong with that? I'm a 34-year-old non-Dad with my ear pierced.
At 2/04/2007 8:35 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
There's nothing wrong with it, I just never knew that it was pierced.
At 2/04/2007 8:38 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Rex Grossman has 32 passing yards. Manning has 32 passing attempts. For 228 yards.

My mother strikes agian.
She rocks.
At 2/04/2007 8:55 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
I just read your little play aloud to the room. Lots of laughter.
Frank: "Go horseshoe guys! Beat the C-men!"
At 2/04/2007 8:56 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
And the "enough to keep Robert Goulet away" commercial also rocks.
At 2/04/2007 8:57 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
She actually knows quite a bit about football, but I think she just likes to mess with me.
At 2/04/2007 9:02 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Chicago's defense has been pretty awesome. They have done a great job with the bend-but-don't-break thing. They've held the Colts to a FG attemps four times, and Vinatieri missed one of them. They are the only reason the Bears are even in this game at all.
At 2/04/2007 9:03 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
It's raining, it's pouring, Chicago's offense is snoring...
At 2/04/2007 9:05 PM , Joey Fanelli said...

But did he get pwned?
At 2/04/2007 9:11 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
It's the same thing. "pwned" was coined beacuse it was a common typo for those whom wanted to type "owned".
...why do I know this?
At 2/04/2007 9:13 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Ah, Guinness. It's a fruit of a different colour, don't'cha know!
At 2/04/2007 9:13 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Thanks, Joey! I always wondered about that.
At 2/04/2007 9:15 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Gotta give it up for both of these offensive lines. The running backs have had some really big holes.

Tecmo Bowl:
The instant replays are so random in the NFL that my theory is this: I believe that the officials just stick their head under the hood, play video games for a minute, flip a coin, and then make the call. The joke two weeks ago was that they're playing Tecmo Bowl 1990 with Bo Jackson, the greatest video game football player of all time. Tecmo Bo is a legend.
At 2/04/2007 9:30 PM , Wayne Conners said...
Another interception!
At 2/04/2007 9:31 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Boy, it's a rough day when you're counting on Rex Grossman for 4th quarter heroics.
At 2/04/2007 9:31 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
Ah. I knew that Tecmo Bowl was a video game, but I didn't understand it's relevancy to what was going on.

Losing Cendric Benson was a killer.

At 2/04/2007 9:33 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Grossman is 11/17 for 92 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. Can we call him the worst Super Bowl©® quarteback ever?
At 2/04/2007 9:34 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Jones is a very good back, but he can't carry a team alone. He's a good tandem back. Dominic Rhodes is the same way.
At 2/04/2007 9:34 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
If the Colts win, I bet ol' Dungy will go over to Smith's house amd point and laugh.

Who do you think is the MVP of the game?
At 2/04/2007 9:51 PM , Joey Fanelli said...
One of the running backs, I know that for sure.
At 2/04/2007 9:51 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Manning has 247 passing yards, but I like Joseph Addai for MVP. 77 rushing yards and 66 receiving yards.

I'll agree with that.
At 2/04/2007 9:51 PM , Andrew Hamm said...
Rhodes also has 112 yards rushing. Thomas Jones has 100 yards for Chicago.
